The Kikambala Children Initiative was founded by a compassionate woman who, after witnessing the dire conditions in Kikambala, Kilifi County, knew she had to take action.​

This rural region is one of the poorest in Kenya, with children facing unimaginable challenges. Some were forced to drop out of school and marry young in exchange for food for their families. Others, desperate to help, were coerced into selling their bodies for money.

These children lived in deteriorating conditions, often abandoned by their families or left to live with aging grandparents who were unable to care for them. But thanks to the efforts of the Kikambala Children Initiative, these children now have a chance at a better life.​

With every product sold at The True Taste of Kenya UK, part of the proceeds go directly to supporting these children, providing them with three nutritious meals a day and ensuring they receive an education. The project’s mission is to rescue children from the streets, provide them with shelter, and equip them with the tools they need to build a brighter future.
